Overview
Connecting Google Search Console to Datadrew gives you visibility into your organic search performance. Once connected, Drew AI can answer questions about your search rankings, impressions, clicks, and top-performing queries — all alongside your other e-commerce data.
Prerequisites
A Google account with access to a Google Search Console property for your Shopify store's domain
Owner or Full user access to the Search Console property
Your store's domain must be verified in Google Search Console
Datadrew installed on your Shopify store
Step-by-step connection
Open the Integrations page. In Datadrew, click Integrations in the sidebar.
Find the Google Search Console card. Locate the Google Search Console integration card and click "Connect".
Sign in to Google. A Google sign-in window will open. Select the Google account that has access to your Search Console property.
Grant permissions. Google will ask you to allow Datadrew to read your Search Console data. Review the permissions and click "Allow". Datadrew requests read-only access to your search performance data.
Select your site. After authorization, a dialog will list all verified sites in your Google Search Console. Select the one that corresponds to your Shopify store domain.
Confirm the connection. Click "Connect" to finalize. The Google Search Console card will update to show a "Connected" status.
What data is accessible
Once connected, Datadrew can access the following data from Google Search Console through Drew AI:
Search queries — the keywords people use to find your store in Google search
Impressions — how often your pages appear in search results
Clicks — how many times users clicked through to your site from search
Click-through rate (CTR) — the percentage of impressions that result in clicks
Average position — your average ranking position for search queries
Page performance — which pages on your site get the most organic traffic
Note: Google Search Console data is accessed in real time through Drew AI. You can ask questions like "What are my top organic search queries this month?" or "Which product pages get the most organic clicks?" Drew AI will query the Search Console API directly for the freshest data available.
Troubleshooting tips
"No sites found" — Make sure your store's domain is verified in Google Search Console. Go to search.google.com/search-console to verify.
Wrong site listed — Google Search Console may show multiple properties (URL prefix vs. domain property). Select the property that matches your Shopify store's primary domain.
Permission denied — You need Owner or Full user access to the Search Console property. Ask the property owner to add you.
Data looks delayed — Google Search Console data typically has a 2-3 day delay. This is a limitation of Google's data processing, not Datadrew.
