How to connect Unicommerce to Datadrew

Connect your Unicommerce account to bring order, inventory, and warehouse data into Datadrew — including when to allowlist our IP address.

Overview

Connecting Unicommerce to Datadrew brings your order management and warehouse data into the platform. Once connected, Drew AI can answer questions about sale orders, shipping packages, returns, purchase orders, and facility-level inventory alongside your Shopify and advertising data.

Prerequisites

  • A Unicommerce account you can sign in to as an administrator

  • Permission to create users in Unicommerce

  • Datadrew installed on your Shopify store

Find your tenant name

Your tenant name is the subdomain you use to sign in to Unicommerce. If you access Unicommerce at acmecorp.unicommerce.com, your tenant name is acmecorp. Enter only the subdomain in Datadrew — not the full address.

Create a dedicated API user

We recommend creating a separate user for this integration rather than reusing a person’s login, so the connection keeps working when staff change.

  1. In Unicommerce, go to Settings → Users.

  2. Click Add User and create a user with the API role.

  3. Give that user facility access for every facility whose data you want in Datadrew. Without facility access, inventory and order lookups return nothing.

  4. Note the user’s email address and password — you will enter both in Datadrew.

Connect in Datadrew

  1. In Datadrew, click Integrations in the sidebar.

  2. Find the Unicommerce card and click Connect.

  3. Enter your tenant name, and the username and password of the API user you created.

  4. Click Connect. Datadrew verifies the credentials and loads your list of facilities.

Allowlist Datadrew’s IP address (if you restrict API access by IP)

Unicommerce can be configured to accept API calls only from specific IP addresses. Most accounts do not have this turned on — if yours does not, you can skip this section entirely.

If your account does restrict API access by IP, ask your Unicommerce account manager to authorize this address:

  • 34.66.91.4

This is the address Datadrew reads your Unicommerce data from on an ongoing basis.

Important — the order matters. The one-off call that first verifies your credentials is made from a different address than the ongoing data calls. If your account already restricts API access by IP, contact Datadrew support before you connect and we will make sure the right addresses are authorized. Connecting first and switching on IP restrictions afterwards also works.

What Datadrew reads

The connection is read-only — Datadrew never creates, edits, or cancels anything in Unicommerce. It reads:

  • Sale orders and their line items

  • Shipping packages and their status

  • Returns

  • Purchase orders and GRNs

  • Facilities, item types, and facility-level inventory

Troubleshooting

“Unicommerce rejected these credentials.” Check the username and password of the API user, and confirm the tenant name is just the subdomain. If the credentials are definitely correct, your account may restrict API access by IP — see the section above.

“Unicommerce refused the connection from Datadrew’s servers.” This means the request reached Unicommerce and was rejected on origin, which almost always means IP restrictions are on. Contact Datadrew support and we will give your account manager the addresses to authorize.

“Could not reach your Unicommerce tenant.” The tenant name is usually misspelled. Enter only the subdomain — acmecorp, not acmecorp.unicommerce.com.

Connected, but inventory or orders are empty. The API user is probably missing facility access. Add it in Unicommerce under Settings → Users, then reconnect.
